International Volunteers Day 2020

International Volunteers Day 2020

It was a sea of red, as 500 volunteers and volunteer involving organisations joined Volunteering WA at Government House on Thursday 3 December for International Volunteer Day.

Compatible Care’s Donna Leckie had the honour of attending the event for our contribution to the ‘At Home Guide’ which originated during COVID this year. Compatible Care together with COTA WA (Council on the ageing) developed a guide for Seniors to be able to access care and services to keep them safe during these unprecedented times. When we reflected on the information we had gathered we realised that this guide will long outlive COVID as it supports any older person who is living at home and requiring services. A 45min video was also produced and can be found on the COTA website www.cotawa.org.au

Professor Bob Ziegler (pictured) is COTA WA's Ambassador and a major contributor to the guide.  Professor Bob is 91 yrs young and talks about how to remain active at home.  Professor Bob has quickly become a great friend of Compatible Care and we value his wisdom and friendship.  We also thank him for referring any older person requiring care and services to our Placement Consultancy team.  Thanks Prof Bob!
